Import your first video

Upload a file or paste a link, preview the cost, and see what processing produces.

Importing is where Framesite earns its keep: one video in, and you get the transcript, the moments, the quotes, and the people, all tied to exact timestamps. The import runs as a short wizard, one decision per screen.

Two ways to bring video in

  • Upload a file. Drop a video file straight into the import screen.
  • Paste a link. YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, pages with a video on them, direct media file links, and podcast feeds all work. A YouTube playlist link brings in the whole playlist.

You can also connect video sources directly: Vimeo, Frame.io, and Google Drive can pull your original files from your own account, at original quality, with no share-link dance. The Import guides cover connected sources in depth.

The import wizard

  1. Bring the video in

Upload or paste. You can attach scripts, storyboards, or notes alongside the video; they become context for the run.

  2. Check what the run costs

Framesite detects the video's length and shows exactly what the run produces and how it draws from your current allowance before anything starts. Your approved agreement or legacy subscription defines how the run counts. If it would exceed that allowance, any applicable overage or next step is shown up front.

  3. Let it render

Processing runs in the background. You can explore the rest of the workspace while it works, and the queue shows pending, running, and done.

  4. Review what came out

Everything lands in your library for review before anything is built on top of it.

What processing produces

  • A transcript you can edit, tied to exact audio timestamps.
  • Chapters that point at the real moments in the video.
  • Quotes, verbatim from the transcript, ready to carry into pages with their source.
  • Claims, each marked as sourced, needs review, or blocked, so nothing unverified slips into a page.
  • People. Speakers are recognized and become people in your library, so the same person connects across videos, quotes, and pages.

Common questions

Which links can I paste?
YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, pages with a video on them, direct media file links, and podcast feeds. YouTube playlist links work too.
Do I pay before I know the cost?
No. The import wizard shows what the run produces and how it counts against your current allowance before the run starts. If it would exceed that allowance, any applicable overage or next step is shown up front.
Will importing publish anything?
No. Importing produces a transcript, chapters, quotes, and claims for your review. Pages are generated only after review, and nothing publishes without your approval.
